Uyghur Punctuation Checker & Fixer

Arabic-script Uyghur has its own punctuation: the Arabic comma ، (not the Latin comma), the Arabic semicolon ؛, the Arabic question mark ؟, and guillemet quotation marks « ». Text is written right to left, so the correct marks also render correctly next to Uyghur words, whereas Latin punctuation can jump to the wrong side of a sentence when Uyghur and Latin text are mixed.

The checker replaces Latin commas, semicolons and question marks with their Arabic forms; converts straight, curly and doubled-angle quotation marks to « »; and flags doubled punctuation, spaces before a mark, a missing space after a mark, runs of extra spaces, and brackets or quotation marks that are opened but never closed. Each issue is listed with an explanation, and you can apply fixes one at a time or all at once.

Consistent punctuation makes a document look professional and reads correctly on every device. Latin punctuation usually slips in when text is typed on a Latin keyboard, pasted from another source, or converted from Latin script, so it is worth running the checker after converting text and after spell checking.
